Toshiba introduce new LCD TV based on Cell Broadband Engine
Cell chips were created jointly by IBM, Sony and Toshiba. They use the architecture based on RISC, equipped with one central and eight cores, which provides high performance for floating-point operations.

The new LCD panel Toshiba was named Cell Regza 55X1. Its diagonal is 55 inches, resolution - 1920×1080 pixels. The brightness reaches a value of 1 250 cd/m2 and dynamic contrast is equal to 5 000 000:1. The device implements a proprietary technology to improve image quality Super Resolution; provides port USB, HDMI digital interface and a slot for removable flash-card format Secure Digital.
TV is equipped with an acoustic panel with seven speakers; the bundle includes a special attachment with a total storage capacity of 3 TB, which plays the role of video recorder. The device can simultaneously carry out recording gear with eight channels, and then the program can be reproduced in any convenient time (function Time Shift). In addition, the panel can change the quality of the video sequence in real time, and built-in browser-based engine Opera will interact with online services.
